About Yizkor.com

Why was Yizkor.com created?

Yizkor was created to give people the ability to provide spiritual services for their deceased loved ones that they could not perform themselves. Since not everyone is capable or has the time for praying, studying and doing other Tikkunim, Yizkor gives you ability to have these carried out by worthy individuals in merit of your loved ones.

Who runs Yizkor.com

Yizkor is run by a Rosh Yeshiva from Brooklyn, New York who has long seen the need for a system where people not capable of learning or praying can have others provide these services in merit of their loved ones.

Who will be performing the spiritual services purchased on the site?

B"H all services on the site will be carried out by worthy individuals living in the Tzfat - Meron area of North Israel. All individuals will be selected by the Yesod Yosef organization (yesodyosef.com), who will take care to select individuals that have a hard time supporting their family. You will therefore also be receiving the great merit of supporting poor families in Israel each time you purchase a service from Yizkor.com.

Afterlife and the Soul

What happens when a person passes away?

When a person passed away his soul ascends to the heavenly court where he must face judgment for all the actions performed during his lifetime. Based on this judgment, it will be decreed if the soul will receive reward or punishment. Once a person passes away he no longer has any ability to gain further merits on his own beyond what he did while he was still alive. However others that are still alive can perform merits that do influence the fate of this soul in the Next World.

Can I do anything to benefit the soul of person who passed away?

Yes, any person can perform acts of kindness, pray, study and do Tikkunim in merit of the soul of someone who has already passed away. 

Profiles

Can I create multiple profiles?

Yes, you can create as many profiles as you like as long as it is only a single one for each individual.

Is creating a profile really free?

Yes, there is absolutely no charge for creating a memorial profile on Yizkor, nor are there any renewal fees. If you would like to order spiritual services for the individual on the profile, there is a fee to cover operating costs and to compensate the time of individual who will be performing the services for you. 

How do I create a profile?

Very simple all you do is first create an account on Yizkor by going to the 'Sign Up' link on the header of all pages. Then once logged in, you click the 'Add Profile' link in your user or dashboard menus and can easily add a new profile. 

How do I update an existing profile?

You can only update a profile that you created yourself. You do not have the ability to edit profiles created by others. 

To edit a profile you created

  1. Log in to your account
  2. Go to the 'My Profiles'  page which is linked in the header users menu or on your dashboard menu
  3. Click the Edit icon
  4. Edit and then Save

To edit a profile created by others

  1. Contact the profile creator
  2. Contact the site admin at info@yizkor.com

Services

How do I assign a service I'm ordering to a profile?

When you add a service to your cart you will be prompted to associate it with a profile using one of these 4 methods...

  1. Selecting one of your saved profiles from a dropdown. This list will include all the profiles you created, associated with or set a Yahrzeit reminder for.
  2. Select any other profile from Yizkor using a searchable dropdown
  3. Add a new profile that does not yet exist on the site, that the service will be assigned to
  4. Order the service without a profile. Instead you will be able to enter in the Hebrew name of the person you want the service performed for.
Can I order services in merit of someone who does not have a profile on Yizkor.com ?

Yes, you can purchase a service without having to create a profile. While adding the service to the cart, select the 4th option of 'I want to order this product without a profile' and then just enter in the name of the person you want the service performed for and it will be done without a profile being created.

Can I order services for a purpose other then Liloy Nishmas

Yes you may order services for any cause like Refua Shelama, Parnasa, Shidduchim, Hatzlacha, Avodas Hashem, Hamtakas Hadnim both for yourself or for others. This can be done by selecting the 4th option 'I want to order this product without a profile' while adding the service to your cart. Then in the 'Note' field please specify the exact details of the cause you want the service performed for.

Can I add specific directions or instructions for the performance of the service

Yes, when adding the service to your cart there is a 'Note' field where you can add in all your specific instructions, directions and notes. We will try our best to accommodate these requests and to pass them on to the individual who will be performing the service for you. However we do not guarantee that we will be able to carry them out as that is dependent on your request and the given circumstances. 

Can I order services not listed on the website

Yes, if you have a service in mind that is not listed on the website, please contact us at info@yizkor.com with your request and we will see if it is possible to carry it out.

How do I know that my service was carried out

You will bli neder receive an email update after the individual who was assigned to carry out your service confirms that he performed it.

Products

How do I order a physical product?

There are two types of physical products that can be ordered on Yizkor. Regardless both will be shipped directly to you and you have to enter a shipping address during checkout.

1 - Product Associated With Profile

Example: You are ordering 7 Day candles that you would like shipped to you so you can light them yourself in merit of the Niftar. For this type of product you will also need to select a profile to associate the order with while adding it to the cart, using one of the 4 profile selection methods. 

2 - Stand Alone Product

Example: You are ordering a book of prayers. This is a stand alone product and you do not need to associate this order with any profile. 

Subscriptions

Can I change an existing subscription to a different profile ?

Yes you may update the profile the subscription is being done for and change it to a different profile instead.

Here is how to do so

  1. Login to your account
  2. Go to 'My Subscriptions' page which is linked in either your user menu or dashboard menu
  3. In the 'profile' column click on the change profile icon and select a new profile

While adding the subscription to the cart, select the 4th option of 'I want to subscribe without a profile' and then just enter in the name of the person you want the service performed for and it will be done without a profile being created.

Can I pause a subscription

Yes you can pause or delete a subscription.

Here is how to do so

  • Login to your account
  • Go to 'My Subscriptions' page which is linked in either your user menu or dashboard menu
  • In the 'action' column click on the pause icon

When pausing a subscription it will only go into effect at the start of the next billing cycle.

If a subscription was paused, it can be reactivated by going back to the same place and clicking on the 'reactivate' icon

Can I delete a subscription

Yes, you can delete a subscription.

Here is how to do so

  1. Login to your account
  2. Go to 'My Subscriptions' page which is linked in either your user menu or dashboard menu
  3. In the 'action' column click on the pause icon

When deleting a subscription it will only go into effect at the start of the next billing cycle.

Please Note: Once you delete a subscription it can no longer be reactivated. If you want the subscription again you will have to go back and place another subscription order. There is also a 'pause' option that you can use instead of 'delete' which will allow you to reactivate your subscription at a later point.

Payments, Cancellations & Refunds

What payment methods do you offer on Yizkor?

Do you store any of my credit card information?

No all your credit card information is passed over directly into the secure servers of PayPal Pro and we do not store the information on our server. For subscriptions and saved cards we use unique transaction tokens to sync with the accounts on the PayPal Pro server. 

Can I save and resue my credit card for future purchases

Yes, you can save your card and reuse for future services. All you card info gets stored on the secure PayPal Pro server and is not stored on our actual system. 

Can I cancel a service or product that I ordered

You may cancel a service as long as the individual carrying out the service did not start doing so.

You may cancel a product order as long as it was not yet shipped.

To cancel an order email info@yizkor.com and if your case is eligible you will receive a refund. 

Can I return a product and get a refund

Yes if you send us back a product in its original condition you will receive a refund. The refund will not include the amount spent to ship the product nor the cost of shipping the product back.
